Robust and reliable automated fire monitoring with ADT
Always there
ADT Fire Monitoring is a total automated fire monitoring solution backed by the world's largest fire protection organisation.
ADT Fire Monitoring Centre – 24/7
ADT Fire Monitoring has a complete monitoring centre with back up operations and a dedicated team specifically in place to provide high quality fire alarm monitoring to our business customers. Our fire monitoring team understands the nature of protecting business facilities and is trained to ensure fast response and reliability. The monitoring centre is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This continuous monitoring of the network ensures all signals get through (and are automatically recorded), queries are answered and network faults are quickly reported and rectified.
Dependable messaging
All alarm events are automatically sent to your nominated Service Agent via a message provider ensuring they receive immediate notification of events requiring their attendance. In addition, we provide immediate notification of Fire Alarm events to New Zealand Fire Service Communication Centres ensuring rapid dispatch of fire response vehicles. Messaging is also available as required for building owners or their facilities managers.
Unactioned messages
At certain times of the day, any outstanding events are classed as “Off Normal” and we page the customers Service Agent. Off Normal” events are paged at 0800, 1600 and 2000. In addition, events which occurred between 2000 and 0700 are sent to the customers Service Agent at 0700 to advise how many faults were received over night.
Robust back up systems
Triple site business continuity
Our monitoring network is designed to operate out of multiple data centres, each complete with generator back up. The ASE (Alarm Signalling Equipment) can communicate to these fully duplicated data centres via either a wireless CDMA (Primary) or PSTN (Secondary) connection, ensuring fire alarm messages can be delivered to the NZFS following a serious unexpected disruptive incident.
Should the Telecom CDMA network fail, the ASE is able to continue communicating with our message handling system via a secondary path. ADT Fire Monitoring recommends customers install a secondary back up telephone (PSTN) line as part of their automated fire monitoring system.
Generator back up
ADT Fire Monitoring has an onsite generator back up at all nominated business continuity data centres to ensure continuity of service in event of a significant failure. Regular testing and maintenance is performed on the generator systems to guarantee fail-over.
Dual communications paths
To ensure signals get through, they are sent using two separate and committed communication paths. This includes redundancy of message handling at dual sites. In addition we ensure all critical events, including Fire, are acknowledged via receipt processes to ensure NZFS response.
Where the ASE is not in a “normal” state, this is communicated to both your nominated Service Agent and our monitoring centre for failure management.
ASE battery back up
In the event of a mains power failure, the ASE will continue to work for up to 48 hours via its built-in battery back up system. Where a battery becomes low or fails, we are alerted immediately. In addition, the ASEs are programmed to test the back up battery every 24 hours and alert us accordingly to battery condition.
