Our equipment

The Alarm Signalling Equipment (ASE) supplied by ADT Fire Monitoring allows for an alarm signal generated by your Fire Alarm system to be automatically transferred to the New Zealand Fire Service.

Up to 16 different fire alarm panels or sprinkler systems can be operated independently on the same ADT ASE connection, reducing overall cost (based on the charge of one primary and 15 secondary connections vs 16 primary connections).

The ASE combines this information together with its own status and sends it to the ADT Fire Monitoring central monitoring system using  the in-built CDMA radio modem and as added safety and protection in the network can access the backup PSTN Analogue telephone line if this network is not available.

The MASterMind system processes the signals and sends the appropriate events to the NZFS STSMHS, (message handling system), for the NZFS to respond to.

To ensure the ASE is in communication mode at all times, the primary cellular link sends continuous polls to our monitoring centre, plus an automatic daily test to ensure the secondary link (back up analogue telephone line(PSTN)) is functioning. In the event of communication failure by one or both links, and/or if the Fire Alarm Panel is indicating a system fault, the ASE flags the fault to the monitoring centre where the fault is actioned accordingly.

The ASE is powered from 230V AC mains via a plug pack with a 12v rechargeable battery to provide power should the main power supply fail.
