Primary and Secondary Connections |
The initial Fire System (Fire Alarm, Sprinkler or Combined panel, represented by a unique identifier known as the FA#) to connect to an ASE at a site is known as the Primary connection. Subsequent systems, known as Secondary connections, are connected to the same ASE. The maximum number of Secondary connections to an individual ASE is determined by the type of ASE on site i.e an ASE 16 means that you can have one Primary connection and 15 Secondary connections. |

Provides additional capabilities to the SGD e.g authenticate using a key and extract rich data/text if available. Provides a high level serial link to the Fire Alarm system to obtain detailed alarm information including zone and point data. It may also provide remote access to a Fire Alarm system's diagnostic port. |
