Why do I need to have Fire Monitoring? |
Your building usage, Warrant of Fitness or compliance will determine whether or not a direct connection is required. |

Can I choose to have Fire Monitoring? |
Yes. You can choose to have a direct connection to the New Zealand Fire Service as a Health and Safety measure, or your insurers may require direct connection to enhance the safety and protection of the premises. |

How do I apply to become direct connected? |
Simply complete this Request for Connection and we will send you a contract, or download the Customer Contract Form (FMF012). |

How long does it take to be come direct connected? |
Once we have received a signed contract from you the process takes approximately six weeks to complete. |

What do I have to have in order to complete the process? |
There are two pieces of information required by the NZFS: |

Is there any cost to me? |
There may be some costs associated with a back up line. The main connection is via the wireless network and if you have an available analogue line to provide the back up then with the exception of some one off costs to move a jack point to the required position there will be no additional cost |

What are the benefits of a contract with ADT? |
A separate contract with ADT Fire Monitoring for automated fire alarm monitoring ensures a fixed rate for monitoring and clarity of costs. Our Fire Alarm history reports which are available to our customers can provide validation that your Service Agent maintains your fire alarm systems in optimum working condition.

Why do I receive a separate invoice for monitoring fees and one from my Service Agent? |
As the customer there are real benefits for you to contract your Service Agent separately for fire panel and sprinkler servicing and maintenance work. To avoid any confusion with fees, Service Agent charges and monitoring fees are charged separately. There are no hidden costs e.g callouts, as these are specified. |

How do I ensure my ongoing fire alarm system compliance? |
Your Service Agent will conduct regular testing to ensure your system is fully functional and compliant with relevant standards and building codes. |

How can I make changes to my site and contact details? |
Please complete the Customer Update Form (FMF003) and email or fax to us. |

What payment methods can I use? |
We will accept payments by Direct Debit, Direct Credit/EFT or cheque. |
